Duchenne dads to climb tallest peak in the great Smoky Mountains to raise funds to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Four dads whose sons have Duchenne muscular dystrophy will climb ClingmanÌ¢‰â‰ã¢s Dome, the highest peak in the Smoky Mountains, on June 30 as part of the annual Ì¢‰âÒClimb to CureDuchenne: Pick Your PeakÌ¢‰âÂÌ_ event happening nationwide. People across the country are climbing a mountain, hill or tall building to increase awareness and raise funds to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. CureDuchenne, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness and funds research to cure Duchenne muscular dystrophy, organized the event.

LOS ANGELES, Calif., MAY 29, 2012: The 5th annual Dealing for Duchenne charity poker tournament will be held on June 2, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the legendary Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City to raise funds to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The star-studded honorary event committee includes Joel Murray, Josh Malina, Anne Heche, James Tupper, David Foster, Seal, Paul Reiser, Parker Stevenson, Kelli Williams, Mandy Moore, Oliver Hudson, Kara DioGuardi, Clay Matthews and Michael Rappaport. Proceeds will benefit the Center for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (CDMD) at UCLA.

Kilimanjaro to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He already set a record as the youngest person to climb Mt. Whitney in California in a single day Ì¢‰â‰ÛÏ the highest peak in the contiguous United States. While Tyler takes on the physical challenge of the climb from June 25 – July 2, 2012, he challenges others to donate a dollar to CureDuchenne for every foot he climbs.

Sally and Mack Brown will host the third annual Champions to CureDuchenne presented by RBC Wealth Management on April 27, 2012 at The University of Texas Golf Club (2200 University Club Drive, Austin, TX). Cost is $150 per person and includes admission, food and beverages. Champions to CureDuchenne is a fundraiser for CureDuchenne, which funds groundbreaking research to save the 300,000 boys worldwide who have Duchenne.
