Knoxville, TN. (June 5, 2023) – Knoxville Brewfest, the city’s most anticipated celebration of craft beer, is back and ready to delight beer enthusiasts while making a positive impact. The event, presented by Tailgating for a Cause, will take place on June 24, 2023, around the picturesque lake and amphitheater at World’s Fair Park, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting CureDuchenne, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Knoxville Brewfest has established itself as a must-attend event. Over 40 breweries from across the region and beyond will be participating, showcasing their finest craft beers and enticing attendees with an exceptional selection of flavors and styles to sample.

“We are thrilled to bring back Knoxville Brewfest for its annual celebration of craft beer, and we are equally excited to partner with CureDuchenne,” says Kent Oglesby, co-founder, Born & Raised Productions. “By joining forces, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy and support the critical research needed to find a cure.”

In addition to the outstanding beers, Knoxville Brewfest will feature live music performances by local bands, including Alex and the Animals and Demon Waffle. Food trucks will also be on hand, offering delicious bites that perfectly complement the beer tasting experience.

Knoxville Brewfest has raised more than $200,000 for CureDuchenne over the past 12 years. Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the most common and severe form of muscular dystrophy, is a fatal genetic disease affecting roughly 1 in 5,000 male births. Individuals with Duchenne are typically diagnosed as toddlers, lose the ability to walk in their early-teens and often succumb to the disease in their mid-20s. CureDuchenne is a global leader in research, patient care and innovation for improving and extending the lives of those with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.  Since it was created in 2003, CureDuchenne has raised over $50 million for research and to develop impactful programs that help families living with Duchenne and has funded 17 research projects that have advanced to clinical trials.

“We are so grateful for the continued support from Knoxville Brewfest and the generosity of the greater Knoxville community,” said Debra Miller, founder and CEO of CureDuchenne. “Duchenne is a relentless, muscle wasting disease and we cannot rest until there are treatments – and, ultimately, cures – for all patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. We turn to the community for support through events like this to help us in our fight. Together, we WILL cure Duchenne.”
