CureDuchenne Crusaders to Run Tinker Bell Half Marathon to Raise Funds to Find Cure for Duchenne

The CureDuchenne Crusaders will run the Tinker Bell Half Marathon on January 19 to benefit CureDuchenne, a nonprofit that raises awareness and funds research to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a progressive muscle-wasting disease that impacts 1 in 3,500 boys. Since 2007, the CureDuchenne Crusaders have proudly worn their bright green capes as theyÌ¢‰â‰ã¢ve walked, ran and climbed mountains to raise funds for Duchenne research.

Tyler Armstrong, 9, Summits Mt. Aconcagua and Raises Awareness to Benefit CureDuchenne

Nine-year-old Tyler Armstrong of Yorba Linda, Calif., became the youngest person to summit Mt. Aconcagua in Argentina when he reached the top of the 22,837 ft. mountain on Christmas Eve. Tyler climbed Mt. Aconcagua to benefit CureDuchenne, a nonprofit that raises awareness and funds research to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Tyler arrives home from his adventure today.

CureDuchenne, a nonprofit that raises awareness and funds research to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, will host a Ì¢‰âÒNew Duplication Exon 2 Mouse Model: A Tool for Studies of Duplication Skipping for DuchenneÌ¢‰âÂÌ_ webinar with Dr. Kevin Flanigan from Nationwide ChildrenÌ¢‰â‰ã¢s Hospital on Thursday, November 21 at noon EST/9:00 a.m. PST. The webinar is an opportunity for the Duchenne community to learn about the duplication mutation research and an exciting exon skipping method using AAV delivery with U7. CureDuchenne has provided the lead funding for Dr. FlaniganÌ¢‰â‰ã¢s duplication research.

CureDuchenne Ventures Launched to Accelerate Drug Discovery and Development for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

CureDuchenne announced today the launch of CureDuchenne Ventures, a new initiative to identify and develop a robust pipeline of therapies to treat Duchenne, the most common and lethal form of muscular dystrophy. This drug discovery and development initiative is based on CureDuchenneÌ¢‰â‰ã¢s successful venture philanthropy model, in which the organization provides early stage funding to biotechnology, pharmaceutical companies and academic investigators to help develop breakthrough therapies to treat Duchenne.

CureDuchenne Raises $300,000 for Research at the 3rd Annual Getzlaf Golf Shootout

CureDuchenne raised more than $300,000 for Duchenne research at the third annual Getzlaf Golf Shootout hosted by Ryan Getzlaf, captain of the Anaheim Ducks. The event, held on September 7 and 8, benefited CureDuchenne, a nonprofit that raises awareness and funds research to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Getzlaf was joined by current and former Anaheim Ducks players including Teemu Selanne, Corey Perry, Dustin Penner, Andrew Cogliano, Cam Fowler and others who teamed up with each foursome.
