Satellos Phase 2 trial in boys with Duchenne will use MRI-measured fat fraction as primary efficacy endpoint

Satellos Bioscience, which received prior funding from CureDuchenne, has announced that after meeting with the FDA they have amended the primary endpoint in their Phase 2 BASECAMP trial to now be change in muscle fat fraction measured by MRI.  BASECAMP is a randomized, placebo-controlled trial of forazapadin in 53 ambulatory in boys with Duchenne (7-9 years of age), and Satellos is on track to report topline data after 12 weeks of treatment with forazapadin in Q1 2027.

In Duchenne, fat tissue progressively replaces healthy muscle as the disease progresses. Satellos has  previously observed an improvement (decline) in fat fraction in their Phase 2 open-label TRAILHEAD study in adults treated with forazapadin over 5 months.   Satellos reports that fat fraction measured by MRI, together with clinical endpoints, may support a potential accelerated approval pathway for forazapadin. Link to press release:  https://ir.satellos.com/news/news-details/2026/Satellos-Changes-Primary-Efficacy-Endpoint-in-BASECAMP-Phase-2-Pediatric-Trial-to-MRI-Measured-Fat-Fraction-Following-FDA-Feedback/default.aspx
